August Mini Bands & Solos

marchingThe Pipe Bands SA August Mini Band & Solo Competitions will be held on Sunday 1st August 2010.

MINI BANDS:

Location: Adelaide High School, West Terrace, Adelaide.
Commencement:11 AM.
Grade 4 Entry Requirements:
  • 2 x Airs (2 parts minimum per tune); and
  • Selection of Marches (3 tunes minimum - of different time signatures)
Grade 2 Entry Requirements:
  • 2 x 6/8's; and
  • MSR (4 parts minimum per tune)

SOLO REQUIREMENTS:

Commencement:Upon completion of the Mini Band Competition.
Solo Entry Requirements (Piping):
  • Elementary: Air into March (2 part minimum per tune)
  • Sub-Intermediate: Strathspey/Reel (2 part minimum per tune)
  • Intermediate: 2 x 9/8 Marches (2 part minimum per tune)
  • Open: 12/8 March (4 part minimum per tune) and Hornpipe/Jig (4 part minimum per tune)
Solo Entry Requirements (Drumming):
  • Elementary: 4 part 6/8 (2x2 part tunes acceptable)
  • Sub-Intermediate: MSR (minimum 2 parts each tune)
  • Intermediate: MSR (minimum 4 parts each tune)
  • Open: Hornpipe into Jig (minimum 4 parts each tune)
