Since the inception of the Australian Pipe Band Championships a number of South Australian Bands have achieved success in various grades. The City of Adelaide Pipe Band should be acknowledged as the only South Australian Band to win the title of Australian Champion Pipe Band when in 1998, under Pipe Major Brett Tidswell and Leading Side Greg Bassani, they won Piping and Drumming in the Grade One category and the overall Championships. In that year they also held the South Australian, Victorian and New South Wales state titles.

Tip of the Day

Ensure synthetic pipe bags are dried and pipe chanters are capped before pipes are put back in the case.
